Just 1 meter 😬 of tweed and a bit of creative positioning 😅 Inspired by a current Fendi jacket with the most amazing “exploding effect” embellishments — love at first sight ✨ I wanted to see if I could translate the idea into a spring dress, ready for Easter. There was a lot of puzzle-solving on the cutting table… but thankfully it worked 💪🏻 The trick is to respect the grainline as much as possible — and if you can’t everywhere, choose carefully where you don’t 🎓 As they say, you’ve got to know the rules to break them. The bottom sleeve section (Easter egg officially planted 😆🐣), I lined with silk organza to support the beading — a little couture trick that makes all the difference, they say. It’s my first go at it so I’ll letbyou know. So lucky that I had yellow (of all colours!) scraps of 100% silk that I couldn’t bring my self to part with.💛 Now for the bling ✨ Wait ’til you see where it goes 😆(hint- see 🐣). Part 2 coming.
