Jimmy has been an inspiration to so many of us, so it was an absolute honor and privilege to outfit his shop with our latest and greatest GEN 2 Elite Foreman. @stonefinity and @morganhop traveled up to upstate New York this week to help set up the machine and do a little bit of training so Jimmy can hit the ground running. @_callmemabie_ joined us to do what he does best - bring good vibes and shoot stunning video of the experience. @rojascarpentry was there to keep us motivated, inspired, and fed. If you have been following along my journey with my new Next Wave CNC I have an update for you. But first— it’s November, a time to focus on giving THANKS and I couldn’t be more grateful for this maker community. With the help of Adam @barnett._.builds and Tyler @woodenwhiskerstrading I was able to move forward with my CNC journey. Thanks for being so patient and for sharing all of your CNC knowledge with me during my most stressful and frustrating moments. 🤯 After a few hiccups, we finally got the spoil board flattened and I was able to work on my first test piece on Vectric and that was so much fun. 🤓 I still have a lot to learn on the CAD and Vectric side but I can see how this is going to be so addicting. In the meantime I’ll be practicing cutting lots of squares and circles and I’ll be making lot so of sawdust in the process. What people don’t understand that aren’t a part of the maker community is that we can form real friendships without ever meeting the person on the other side of the chat. I have met some amazing women in the maker community and have become friends or friendly with many of them. Another thing about our community is we really show up for one another. So when I saw that a maker friend Sara @twofive_creative was having a difficult time with the loss of her beloved dog Cooper, I decided to gift her this book. Whenever I am able to I try to donate at least one book a month for a variety of causes. It was my pleasure to do this for Sara. This world needs more acts of kindness with wanting nothing in return. I’m so sorry for your loss Sara and I hope you can find comfort in knowing you showed him what it was like to be loved. You might not have been able to spend the rest of your life with Cooper, but he got to spend the rest of his life with you. 🐾🌈 🐾🌈 🐾🌈 . . . #bookart #bookfolding #rainbowbridge🌈 #petlosssupport
