I love the joy of sewing one pattern multiple times with different fabrics. It’s beautiful to see how the fabric dictates the characteristics of the garment. Rather it be soft and drapey, or full and structured, each design is unique in its own way. I’ve recorded a Sew Along for this McCall’s 7774 by @simplicity_creative_group using a 100% Linen. So, get your pattern, and a fabric of your choice to be ready when the video drops. McCall’s patterns are $2.99 at Hobby Lobby. Celebrating in style!🏰🎉💕 Disneyland turns 70 this year and I finally got to check out all the festivities over the weekend. Some of my favorites had to be the Better Together Pixar parade, the new World of Color Happiness show (plus a little pre-show with the Muppets!), seeing the characters if their new 70th gear, plus the park so colorfully decorated, and I was surprised to find out some rides like Toy Story Mania and It's a small World incorporated the 70th bday into the ride! Of course, I had to make a special outfit for the occasion, and I decided to upcycle this dress I had gotten from the Disney 100 collection a couple years back. The fabric features different vintage attraction posters and I knew I wanted to make it into a two piece set. Don’t get me wrong, it is sad to see them go, but as the saying goes, when one door closes…. I am so happy that I listened when God told me last year it was time to MOVE and start my pattern/apparel company. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, and I’m most definitely still learning, but I’m confident that Fashion Therapy Apparel (Patterns) will be able to make a huge contribution to filling the void left by the loss of the big 4. All I need is help spreading the word that FASHION is still available. Quality patterns with top notch instructions and beautiful garments are still an option. And a Black woman own business thriving in the worst of times is still a possibility. Thank you to all who have supported me this far…welcome to all my new supporters and shoutout to all my day ones!! I love you all! Now is the time for me to stand in the gap and give the sewing community something to look forward to!! I was looking through my feed of things I have made and this bunny 🐰 brought me great joy to sew! I made it and sent it to my grand daughter. The print fabrics are @jenniferpaganelli and stunning!
