Pathway 2 invitation round will be determined following the demand for nominations under Pathways 1 and 3. At the earliest, if required, an invitation round for Pathway 2 will occur in April 2026. Further updates will be provided prior to conducting an invitation round as required.

Unlike before, the new occupation list allows applicants to apply for direct PR through the 186 direct entry stream. Previously, these occupations were not available for employer sponsorship or could only apply for PR after spending 2 years on the TSS 482 visa. The requirements for this visa remain the same. You will need to find an employer to sponsor you. You will need to be under 45, have at least competent English. You will need to have qualifications, 3 years of full time work experience and a valid skills assessment.
