AFNO DRAFT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW. Here’s what’s actually changing. 🔴
Starting December 2026, young men will be automatically registered for Selective Service instead of having to register manually.
That’s the change.
Now here’s what people are getting confused about:
REGISTRATION ≠ DRAFT
Registration = Being in the pool IF a draft is ever needed
Draft = Actual conscription (would require national emergency + Congressional vote)
These are NOT the same thing.
For a draft to actually happen, you would need:
1️⃣ A national emergency (war, invasion, etc.)
2️⃣ A Congressional vote
3️⃣ A Presidential signature
4️⃣ Then Selective Service would begin
Automatic registration does NOT change this process.
So if you’re worried about your military-age child being drafted:
Your child is NOT being drafted. Their registration is just becoming automatic. A draft would still require a major national emergency and Congressional action.
Stop worrying about a draft that isn’t happening. Stay informed about what IS actually happening.
