Even if I have to just enumerate the physical benefits of taking care of your spine, the list will be long. . ✅Apart from posture, the muscles and other tissues of our spine also heavily influence our nervous system. ✅If your neck muscles and traps are too tight, it can lead to migraines. ✅forward head posture reduces your life expectancy! (This was an eye-opener for me) ✅Spine work increases stillness in the mind. . These are some of the postures I am going to teach in my upcoming retreat STILLNESS THROUGH THE SPINE -17-20th November. This is going to be about spine health and Energizing yourself through the spine. I use these to frequently release tension through my spine. My mid back is a big tight area due to years of strength training but my spine has gotten better with time with consistent, short, spine-focused routines. . Do about 60 seconds of each. Von rosa Elefanten und eingeschlafenen Füßen kann ich ein Lied singen. Und zwar immer dann, wenn ich mich - verdammt nochmal - entspannen will. Soll heißen? Ich finde Achtsamkeitsübungen anstrengend und es hat ewig lange gedauert, bis ich einen entspannten Zugang zu ihnen gefunden habe. Dabei wurden sie mir immer wieder als Wundermittel für einfach Alles angepriesen. Rückblickend ein Riesenproblem. Denn das hatte zur Folge, dass meine Erwartungen an meine Meditationssitzungen immer viel zu hoch waren, was zwangsweise zu Stress und Frust führte und natürlich dazu, dass ich nicht weitergemacht habe. Als das Problem behoben war und ich mich dann doch wieder hingesetzt habe, plagten mich die üblichen Verdächtigen Zen-Fallen. Ne kribbelnde Nase, eingeschlafene Füsse, turnende Kinder, mein Phone oder auch nur der Gedanke an die Wäsche, die ich im Trockner vergessen habe. Das ist zwar lästig, aber angeblich ganz normal. Also fuck it, lieber Trockner. Ich freue mich einfach, dass ich es überhaupt schaffe, mich hinzusetzen und mir ein paar Minuten ohne Phone und ohne sonst irgendwas zu gönnen. Und manchmal - aber wirklich und ehrlich nur MANCHMAL - habe ich dabei auch das Gefühl im Flow zu sein.
