I loved getting ready, heading out, meeting new people. Now, something that once felt natural riddles me with anxiety. I stim nervously, not that anyone would notice, but my shaking hands do. When I watch videos from years ago, I see the spark. When I watch myself now, I see how much of it I feel l’ve lost. At a recent GP appointment, it wasn’t my physical health that broke me, it was when she gently asked about my emotional health. I tried to hold it together because I knew I had more tears in me than was letting out. That moment made me realise just how heavy things have become. The night before, I barely slept. Tossing and turning, knowing I had to leave the house in the morning. My body was already shaking. It isn’t easy for me these days especially when I truly feel as though I have no worth or value. Of course I have value, I am made in God’s great image. But certain parts of life, and the way I am treated, can make me feel otherwise. My voice often feels stuck in my throat, held back by dishonour, shame, and the fear of ‘what will people think.’ I stay quiet even when I want to roar. And the weight of that silence is heavy. But I am still here. I am still trying. And maybe that’s what matters most, trying in life no matter how hard it gets, no matter how misunderstood or overlooked you feel. Sometimes when people don’t hear you, watch their actions closely, they often reveal exactly how much you mean to them. Shift to H-4 & get an EAD H-4 EAD program was launched in 2015, which lets spouses of H-1B holders *who have an approved I-140* work. It lets you work for any employer & has no minimum salary cap. Caveat: It’s tied to your spouses’ H-1B. So if their visa gets revoked, so does yours. ✅ Move to B-2 visitor visa temporarily (Change of Status) B-2 lets you stay in the country for 6 months.
