ALWhen CeeDee Lamb entered the 2020 NFL Draft, 16 teams passed on him — a decision that looks worse with every season he puts up elite numbers. Coming out of Oklahoma, Lamb was widely viewed as one of the most complete wide receiver prospects in the class, known for his crisp route running, strong hands, and dangerous ability after the catch. Still, he surprisingly slid down the board until the Dallas Cowboys grabbed him at pick No. 17, a move that has paid off in a major way. Since arriving in Dallas, Lamb has steadily developed into a true WR1 and one of the NFL’s most reliable offensive weapons, consistently producing big games and highlight-reel plays. Many of the teams that passed on him were addressing other needs or betting on different receivers, but in hindsight, several front offices would likely change that decision if given another chance.
Lamb’s draft-night fall has become a textbook reminder that elite talent can slip through the cracks — and that patience and opportunity can turn a perceived slide into a superstar story.
