Storyline
A brilliant but bored high school student, Light Yagami, stumbles on a mysterious notebook called the Death Note, dropped into the human world by a Shinigami. He learns the notebook gives him the power to kill anyone whose name he writes in it, as long as he visualizes their face. At first, he decides to purge the world of criminals, but his mission turns into an obsessive quest for godlike control.
As deaths mount, a reclusive genius detective known only as L steps in to stop Light’s deadly game, kicking off an intense battle of wits where every move could mean life or death.
