THScience is finally naming what my lineage has always known, what many Indigenous cultures have always lived in relationship with.
Plants are not objects.
They are aware, responsive, relational beings.
In constant conversation with light, color, water, air, and presence.
In my blood memory, we don’t call them resources or decor.
We call them relatives.
Not symbolically.
Not poetically.
Literally.
Relatives we listen to.
Relatives we learn from.
Relatives who respond when we change how we show up in relationship.
When you begin to see the living world this way, everything shifts.
Care becomes collaboration.
Water becomes a dialogue.
Presence becomes a shared language.
We don’t just care for them.
They care for us right back.
This isn’t new knowledge.
It’s remembered.
Plants are relatives, teachers, medicine, and conscious beings within a living web.
We water them, they water us™
