Happy international women’s Day! Upon being accepted after passing an entrance exam to the school in 3rd grade, I had the privilege of attending one of the most prestigious, all female schools growing up in Sri Lanka ,it was an honor to show up to the 150th anniversary book signing of the school where it has produced many amazing women and notable figures over the years. This includes our current prime minister of Sri Lanka, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya the 3rd female prime minister of Sri Lanka, who was one of the guests of honor at this event. It was a surreal moment to speak with her and witness her being honored as one of the past pupils of this school. Did you also know that the first female prime minister in the world is from Sri Lanka! Our school motto in Latin means “Non sibi dus Omni bus”, which means Not for one but for all. It is with that responsibility I go out into the world to stand by those words, in my every action. #srilanka #stemfluencer #hariniamarasuriya #womensempowerment #happyinternationalwomensday

Tal día como hoy 24 de agosto pero de 1945 se reunieron en la ciudad de Maracaibo, los representantes de los Colegios Médicos existentes en el país para fundar la institución que definitivamente uniría al gremio médico venezolano "La Federación Médica Venezolana" . La creación tuvo lugar durante una convención médica en Maracaibo y fue presidida por el doctor José Trinidad Rojas Contreras como fundador y primer presidente. La formación de la FMV se gestó a partir de iniciativas previas, incluyendo una asamblea constitutiva en Maracaibo apoyada por la Sociedad Médico-Quirúrgica del Zulia y precedida por convenciones médicas que ya discutían la necesidad de una entidad que unificara a los médicos del país. #Felicidades a todos los miembros de la Federación Médica Venezolana ¡Por 80 años de defensa de la salud y del gremio médico venezolano!
