Max has been cleared to progress to full weight bearing. He — 💪🏼 2 Weeks Post-Op Ankle ORIF Progress Update 🦶 Exciting progress at the 2-week mark! Max has been cleared to progress to full weight bearing. He is now using a moon boot inside and outside of the house, only cleared to take it off when rehabbing with my presence. Here’s what’s going well: 🔹Ankle AROM (Active Range of Motion) is steadily returning to normal. 🔹Scars are healing well 🔹Swelling is reducing day by day. Now that full weight-bearing is possible, the focus is on: 🔹 Reducing residual swelling 🔹 Normalizing gait and walking mechanics 🔹 Rebuilding strength and load tolerance in key muscles around the ankle—calf, peroneals, tibialis posterior, and anterior tibialis, as well as the Achilles tendon. On the manual therapy front, we’re continuing: 🔹Dry needling and release work through all the shank muscles (left & right). 🔹Using tools like the Compex machine to help facilitate the journey back to full strength, especially in the left calf. 💥 🔹Normatec compression boots are also in use for swelling management and recovery, helping to promote circulation and reduce fluid retention.
