Ain’t no way bruh 😭😭 Spanish is spoken by around 570 million people worldwide, making it one of the most widely spoken languages on the planet. With about 480 million native speakers, it ranks second only to Mandarin for the most native speakers. It’s the official language in 20 countries, mainly across Latin America and Spain, and it has a major presence in the United States, where over 40 million people speak it at home. Fun fact: Spanish is also the second most studied language in the world, which means even more people are learning it every year. #spanish

SEE and ASL comparison + GLOSS so you can see my exact sign choices of XO (Only If You Say Yes-English version) by Enhypen! The (*) is for the signs that are more of a feeling/ expression that is difficult to put into words. Ex: “kiss *me*” I’m using the exact sign for KISS but not the exact sign for ME on the ASL side. I’m gesturing to myself which *means* me, but there is an actual sign for the word ME, which is a different sign. Another ex: “disconnect *no*” I’m not using the exact sign for NO, I’m wagging my finger which gives the idea of a NO. SEE and ASL- No side is “better”, I make these to show the differences between the two so that you’re aware of what you’re actually using/ learning (if you’re self taught). The deaf community uses both, but ASL is encouraged as it is it’s own language and has a separate grammatical structure that is different from English. SEE- Signed Exact English- I’m using the signed equivalent of each word, and not changing any signs to fit context. ASL- American Sign Language- is it’s own official language, unlike SEE, and has a different grammatical structure. I sign the lyrical meaning behind the lines and change signs to fit the context. 😭 Interesting fact… Spanish is one of the fastest-spreading languages in the world — spoken by over 500 million native speakers across multiple continents. Spanish isn’t just the language of Spain — it’s the official language in more than 20 countries, from Mexico to Argentina. What makes it stand out is its rhythm and clarity. Words are pronounced exactly how they’re written, making it easier to learn than many other languages. The accent can vary dramatically depending on the country — Spain has its distinct “th” sound for certain letters, while Latin American Spanish has smoother pronunciation. The energy, passion, and musical tone of Spanish is what makes it instantly recognisable. 🇪🇸 More fascinating facts about Spanish… • Spanish is the second most spoken native language in the world. • It originated from Latin, just like French and Italian. • Spanish uses inverted question and exclamation marks (¿ ¡). • It’s one of the most phonetic major languages — spelling and pronunciation match closely. • There are many regional accents — even within Spain itself. • Spanish is one of the most useful languages globally for travel and business. • Many English words come from Spanish, especially food and culture terms. Strong, expressive, and global — Spanish carries culture, history, and energy in every sentence. 🔔 Follow @brituish for daily videos like this! #britishmemes #tomholland #spanish #funny #memes

China has a vast linguistic landscape, with many varieties of Chinese spoken across the country. What people often call "dialects" of Chinese are, in fact, more like distinct languages within the Sinitic branch of the Sino-Tibetan family. Many of them are mutually unintelligible, even though they share a writing system (Chinese characters) and are historically related. Here’s an overview of the major groups of Chinese dialects: Major Chinese Dialect Groups Mandarin (官话 / Guānhuà) The largest group, spoken by around 70% of Chinese people. Official language of China (Putonghua / 普通话) is based on the Beijing dialect. Divided into regional varieties (Northeastern, Southwestern, Northwestern, etc.), with noticeable pronunciation and vocabulary differences. Wu (吴语) Spoken around Shanghai, Zhejiang, and southern Jiangsu. Includes the Shanghainese dialect, which is very distinct from Mandarin. Known for its soft sounds and complex tone sandhi. Yue (粤语) Includes Cantonese, spoken in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau. Famous for its preservation of older Chinese sounds and use in Hong Kong cinema and pop culture. Has 6–9 tones (depending on how they’re counted). Min (闽语) Very diverse, not mutually intelligible even within itself. Subgroups include: Hokkien/Taiwanese (Southern Min, 闽南话) Teochew (潮州话) Fuzhou dialect (Eastern Min) Spoken in Fujian, Taiwan, and by many overseas Chinese communities. Hakka (客家话) Spoken in scattered communities in Guangdong, Jiangxi, Fujian, and abroad. Known for being conservative in preserving certain archaic sounds. Xiang (湘语) Spoken in Hunan province. Transitional between Mandarin and Wu. Has “old Xiang” (more conservative, closer to Wu) and “new Xiang” (closer to Mandarin). Gan (赣语) Spoken in Jiangxi province and nearby areas. Shares similarities with Hakka but also influenced by Mandarin. Key Points Mutual intelligibility: Someone who speaks only Cantonese cannot understand Shanghainese or Mandarin without learning them separately. Written vs. spoken: Most dialects use Standard Written Chinese (based on Mandarin grammar and vocabulary), which allows communication across dialects in writing. Cultural signif

No hate but pls don’t mislead people just for you to get paid. There’s nothing wrong with promoting apps - but I keep seeing profiles promoting the same language app by using the same prompts and trying to sell the app by promising fluency in 3 months. 🫠 As a lifelong language-learner, I can tell you that an app alone does NOT get you fluent. PLUS speaking a language and having a B2+ level are 2 different things. You can learn to speak a language in 3 months and make good progress if you commit to it. But that is not enough to advance to a B2 level. Passing an official language exam requires a lot of preparation, and for French specifically, you need to pass the speaking, reading, writing and listening category. It’s not that easy, and there are no quick fixes or cheats to learn a language. #languagelearning #languagelearner #languagestudy #polyglot #multilingual
