Seed oils first emerged in the late 1900s as an alternative to partially hydrogenated oils. They’re plant-based cooking oils made from you guessed it the seeds of various plants.
These seeds are turned into oils that have become extremely common in both cooking and baking.
Here are the eight seed oils most commonly used:
Canola oil (aka rapeseed oil)
Corn oil
Cottonseed
Grapeseed oil
Soybean oil
Sunflower oil
Safflower oil
Rice bran oil
Peanut oil
Seed oils are chemically processed, which may include cleaning, pressing, bleaching, deodorizing, refining and, in some cases, adding a chemical solvent hexane for oil extraction,

This labor-intensive process reflects the ingenuity of early communities in enhancing and preserving olive oil, a staple of their diet and economy. Today, this traditional method serves as a cultural and culinary link to Palestine’s rich heritage, offering a rare and artisanal product that is both flavorful and historically significant.

روستای *نفتسفید*، در همجواری مسجدسلیمان و مناطق نفتی پیرامون آن،
یکی از زندهترین و کمتر روایتشدهترین نقاط تاریخ معاصر ایران است.
اینجا نفت فقط یک منبع انرژی نیست؛

⛽ *مشعلهای نفتی این روستا شب و روز خاموش نمیشوند*؛
شعلههایی که یادگار نخستین سالهای کشف نفت در مسجدسلیماناند.
بر پایهٔ اسناد منتشرشده دربارهٔ فعالیتهای شرکت نفت ایران و انگلیس (APOC) و گزارشهای تاریخی موجود در منابع اینترنتی، این منطقه از نخستین سکونتگاههایی است که شکلگیری آن مستقیماً با استخراج نفت گره خورده است.
اما آنچه *نفتسفید* را فراتر از یک نقطهٔ صنعتی میبرد،

خونگرم، مهماننواز و روشندل.

Here, oil is not merely a source of energy;

🔸 and part of the historical memory of southern Iran.
⛽ *The oil flares in this village burn day and night without pause*;
flames that date back to the earliest years of oil discovery in Masjed‑Soleyman.

The Setup: Large piles of harvested sunflowers are gathered in the field. The operator uses a specialized metal grid stand, designed with specific spacing to allow seeds to pass through while providing a rigid surface for the impact.
The Mechanism (0:01 - 0:02): The process relies on Impact Force. By striking the sunflower head against the steel grid, the operator uses momentum to dislodge the seeds. The grid acts as a sieve, ensuring that only the seeds fall into the collection area below while the empty husk remains in the operator's hand.
