MEA shocking video that surfaced today shows a group of young men dangerously provoking a large crocodile in shallow river waters, sparking outrage and debate across social media.
In the clip shared by journalist Gurpreet Garry Walia (@garrywalia_), three individuals approach what appears to be a mugger crocodile (gharial-like in size, common in Bihar's rivers) resting or submerged in muddy, knee-deep water along a riverbank. One youth, wearing a light shirt, cautiously extends his hand toward the reptile's tail in an apparent attempt to touch or grab it. His friends stand close by, one seeming to hold or guide him while another watches from slightly behind.
As the man gets closer and makes contact or pokes at the animal, the crocodile reacts — thrashing its powerful tail and body, sending water splashing violently. The youths immediately backpedal in panic, scrambling onto the dry bank as the reptile twists and churns the water behind them. The close call lasts only seconds, but the tension is palpable: one wrong move could have turned the stunt deadly.
