The easy fix is having a high-protein breakfast first to turn off that alarm. But realistically, we have to look at this logically. Sometimes the energy and focus that your coffee gives you easily outweigh a temporary hormone spike. You shouldn't have to feel guilty about the things that help you get through your morning. Ultimately, what actually dictates your progress is your total intake. Your calories and daily macros matter far more than the exact timing of your morning drink. If you’re taking supplements for PCOS, how do you know they are working and how long does it take to see improvement? 🤔You should see an improvement in one or more of the following areas:
1️⃣Blood work (for example: Vit D, B12 or iron levels) cholesterol, blood sugar levels. It can get tricky with some supplements like magnesium or zinc. Only a small % is in the blood, most is elsewhere in the body. So your labs may look normal, but you levels are suboptimal. In this case, I go by symptoms. 
2️⃣Energy (for example, if a supplement helped improve anemia or unbalanced blood sugar) 
3️⃣Symptoms (for example, more regular periods, less hair growth (hirsutism), improved acne, less hair loss/more hair growth (alopecia), - and MAYBE weight loss 🤔How long does it take to see an improvement? Of course my answer is “it depends”! 1️⃣To improve symptoms like hair loss/hair growth, it can take 6 months or more 2️⃣To improve cholesterol or bloods sugar, can take up to 3 months 3️⃣To regular menstrual cycles, 3-6 months 4️⃣To get blood levels up to normal, a few weeks to a few months
 Reminder: supplements should be the “icing on the cake” … diet and lifestyle make up 80% of PCOS management. Supplements can’t “fix” things if you aren’t making these areas a priority Supplements need to be TARGETED for you! Don’t buy every PCOS supplement that Coach Cara is selling. Get tested or have your symptoms evaluated by an experienced health professional 👀I can’t make personalized supplement recs for you.
