A Chinese teenager set a remarkable jump rope record by completing 228 jumps in just 10 seconds during a speed rope competition.
This type of event measures how many times the rope passes under the athlete’s feet in a fixed time. Competitors use lightweight speed ropes and extremely quick wrist rotations while keeping their jumps very small to maximize efficiency and reduce air time.
Performances like this require intense coordination, timing, and endurance. At top levels of competitive jump rope, athletes train specifically for speed, aiming to achieve more than 20 rope revolutions per second.
