No one talks about this 👇 At 41, I walked into my Dr’s office armed with a laundry list of inexplicable symptoms. Almost daily unexpected panic attacks Heart palpitations Adrenaline surges Waking with a daily fear of dying Weight gain despite being “fit and healthy” And a general feeling of “not being myself” “Menopause” she said. At 41 .. I was shocked. I thought I was too young. She didn’t. So armed with a long list of tests and some pills for anxiety, I went on my way. For 2.5 years I struggled through worsening symptoms and confusion. A heart that said “this isn’t right” and a mind that was lost in a sea of online menopause marketing. Somehow, someway I waded through the sea of misinformation and landed on this … Perimenopause was a manufactured diagnosis. The truth? It’s a hormonal transition all women go through. And my symptoms? Well, they weren’t because of perimenopause. Perimenopause just unmasked what was sitting under the surface. A nervous system that spent a lifetime living on high speed all the time A circadian rhythm that was totally out of balance because of technology and modern life A body fueled by a “healthy” high carbohydrate but low power diet And an exercise regime that was a recipe for burn out We call this modern life and accept it as normal. Yet women are entering their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s more depleted and hormonally imbalanced than ever. And waiting right there is a medical system ready to diagnose us hormonally depleted and treat us with drugs. THIS.IS.NOT.RIGHT. We need to be having these conversations and we need more of us to speak up and out about how to support our bodies naturally. Right now you can grab my PERIQueen Protocol. I outline exactly what I did to reverse myself out of perimenopause and get rid of all my symptoms. Comment PERI to join a community of women redefining what it means to thrive through perimenopause and beyond. I’m a 45-year-old woman in perimenopause… and these are 7 things I rarely say out loud: 1. I don’t recognize myself anymore. The moods, the brain fog, the way my body has shifted—it feels like I woke up one day and the old “me” was gone. 2. I feel like my body isn’t mine anymore. One minute I’m wired, the next I’m wiped out. And some days I look in the mirror and don’t even recognize the woman staring back at me. That loss of control is frustrating. 3. Some days I feel resentful… and then guilty for it. I love my family, but when my body is screaming for rest and everyone still needs me, it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed. 4. I don’t know how to explain what’s happening inside me. It’s not just mood swings or hot flashes. It’s a whole internal shift I can’t always put into words—and it makes me feel misunderstood, even by the people closest to me. 5. I’m tired of pretending I’m fine. I smile at the soccer game, push through at work, keep showing up—while inside I feel like I’m unraveling. 6. I feel lonely, even when I’m not alone. I can be surrounded by people I love and still feel like no one truly understands what this season is like. 7. I’m grieving the woman I used to be. The one who laughed easier, slept deeper, and didn’t question everything. I miss her more than I say out loud. ➡️ If you’re nodding your head right now, please know—you’re not the only one. This is what perimenopause really feels like, and talking about it is how we find our way back to ourselves. Tell me👇🏼 Which one of these feels the most true for you right now? Let’s make this a space where we don’t have to keep quiet anymore. Low estrogen can change your patience. During perimenopause, estrogen drops and the brain feels it. Estrogen helps regulate serotonin and dopamine. When levels fall, your emotional buffer gets smaller. That can look like: • Less tolerance for noise, clutter, or interruptions• Faster irritation with people you normally handle well• Bigger reactions to small things• Mood swings that feel out of character Many women think something is wrong with them. It is often hormonal. What helps: • Protect your sleep. Fatigue lowers tolerance faster.• Eat regularly. Blood sugar swings add fuel to mood swings.• Build small recovery breaks into your day. Even 10 quiet minutes helps reset your nervous system.• Say no earlier. Your capacity is different now. Your patience did not disappear. Your hormones changed. Adjust the way you support your body. #womenover40 #hormonebalance #perimenopause #perimenopausesupport #estrogen

7 behaviors that feel “normal” when you’ve been stuck in survival mode too long 👇 (But they’re actually signs of nervous system dysregulation and cortisol overload.) 1. You feel calmer busy than resting. Stillness makes you anxious. Slowing down feels uncomfortable because your body is wired for stress. 2. You snap… then feel guilty. It’s not that you’re mean. It’s that your cortisol is high and your system is maxed out. 3. You don’t know what you want. You’ve been managing everyone else’s needs for so long that you stopped checking in with your own. 4. You overthink everything. When stress hormones are elevated, even small decisions feel overwhelming. 5. Calm feels foreign. If you’ve lived in fight-or-flight, regulation can feel unfamiliar at first. 6. You do it all yourself. Hyper-independence is often a stress response, not a personality trait. 7. You’re productive… but never peaceful. You get things done, but your body never feels safe enough to exhale. These aren’t flaws. They’re patterns your nervous system created to survive stress, trauma, and hormone shifts. If this resonates, comment RESET or send me a DM. You don’t have to stay wired and tired. #NervousSystemRegulation #CortisolBalance #PerimenopauseSupport #StressResilience

I think often about the women I reassured when their labs were normal. When the EKG was fine. When the CT was clean. When I said, “This is anxiety,” or “Your heart looks okay,” or “Try to get some rest.” I wasn’t wrong but I wasn’t complete. I didn’t ask if the symptoms were cyclical. I didn’t ask what else had changed in the last year. I didn’t connect night-time panic, palpitations, joint pain, insomnia, or sudden intolerance to stress with hormones because no one trained me to. Estrogen receptors live throughout the brain, the cardiovascular system, connective tissue, joints, and nervous system. When estrogen fluctuates and declines during perimenopause, the body doesn’t fail, it adapts. Sometimes loudly. What we labeled as anxiety was often physiology. What we dismissed as stress was often depletion. What felt sudden to you was actually predictable once you know where to look. I know better now. And I’m committed to teaching what we weren’t taught so women stop feeling dismissed, confused, or alone in bodies that are simply asking for support. Physiology, not failure. Always. #womenover40 #perimenopauseeducation #womenshealthmatters #hormonesaffecteverything #perimenopausesupport

You’re regulating your nervous system. Tracking your hormones. Doing the work. And barely hanging on. And then your kid enters puberty and it feels like universe physically assaults you and your peace. 🙈 If you feel: – more reactive than usual – emotionally raw – overstimulated by everything – like you’re failing at motherhood overnight pause right here. You are not broken. You are not “too sensitive.” You are not bad at this. You’re living through two massive neurological + hormonal transitions at the same time. Perimenopause = fluctuating estrogen → nervous system on high alert Puberty = under-construction brains + big emotions + low impulse control That’s not a personality flaw. That’s biology colliding in the same household. A few things that actually help (and don’t require perfection): ✨ Lower the bar This is not a season for gold-star parenting. “Good enough” is more than enough. ✨ Regulate first, respond second Take one breath longer than you want to before replying. You’re modeling regulation, not weakness. ✨ Name the weather Say it out loud: “We’re both in a big transition.” Naming it reduces shame for both of you. ✨ Protect your nervous system like it matters, because it does More protein. More daylight. Fewer decisions. Less self-criticism. ✨ Repair > react You don’t need to get it right in the moment. Repair is where safety is built. If this season feels like emotional whiplash, it’s because it is. You’re not failing, you’re weathering two storms at once Save this for the days it hits hard Share with a mom who needs to feel less alone Comment “me” if life already hit you with a fish today 🤪 #perimenopausesupport #tweensofinstagram #thankspuberty #midlifemom #perimenopauselikeaboss

Who do these narratives serve? Did you know women’s share of leadership hires has slowed since 2023 across 16 countries? And yes in the UK too! The global menopause market is worth two digit billions of dollars. Who decides we’re no longer good enough? I’ve never spoken publicly about my experience and every day is International Women’s Day for me. But theme this year is “Give to Gain” so it needed to be said. I couldn’t access private care and it took a good year to get my body and mind back on a new path to shine on. Don’t believe the lies, memes and selling. Look after yourself the best you can and get on with your life. Thank you for coming to my latest Ted Talk and please, share your thoughts in the comments. #iwd2026 #givetogain #perimenopausesupport
