I’m a qualified Pilates Teacher with over 20years experience teaching incredible people and I care too much about your physical and mental health to let you buy into any of these statements. 1. Your waist is so much more than something to be snatched - it’s where your deepest layer of your abdominals lives and wraps around your mid section to give you a strong core to support your spine and body for LIFE! 2. We all have abdominals, sometimes they’re visible sometimes they’re not. This does not define your strength or worth. 3. Progressive programs and intentional springs will always be what I teach and guide you towards. This is what drives outcomes, progression, longevity and results. 4. A love a good sweat session but it’s not a determining factor of a great workout. 5. WE ALL HAVE A PILATES BODY - over the last 22years I have taught people from all over the world, every age, many different shapes and sizes and people with all different capabilities and one thing rings true there is a starting point for everyone 🫶 6. Sustainability is key when it comes to your workouts - finding the right balance for your lifestyle is key when you are trying to commit to working out.

I LOVE Pilates, but the biggest misconception is this idea of a “Pilates Body” coming without weightlifting and proper nutrition. I combine Pilates and weights to see the best results. Usually 3 Pilates workouts and 3 weight lifting workouts a week right now is serving me the best. And 2 of those Pilates are megaformer on heavy weighted machines. I was only able to get the most out of Pilates once I built my strength. Every time I go to Pilates I get asked where I go and how I built so much strength. It was in the gym ….. and in the kitchen. If you want to build the muscle, make sure you are eating to support it. NO MATTER WHAT MOVEMENT YOU DO, you will never get the results unless you eat in a way that supports body recomp, aka building muscle and lowering body fat + inflammation. What you eat is what makes this possible, your movement compliments it. However, social media has made us stereotype a certain physique: that long, lean, ballerina look. As a teacher of 10 years, I can tell you with certainty that Pilates bodies don’t have a certain look BUT they do have a certain vibe… they are confident bodies that have overcome injury, pain and discomfort in their lives.
