You rest when both kids magically sleep at the same time… which is rare but does occasionally happen. 3. Preparation > perfection. Freezer meals, diaper stations on both floors, toddler busy bins = survival. 4. Your toddler will regress — and it’s not personal. They’re adjusting to losing 90% of you. 5. You will feel torn in two. One crying in your arms. One crying at your legs. Your heart stretching in real time. 6. Healing looks different the second time. Your body remembers birth… but it still deserves slow recovery. 7. Lower your standards. Lower them again. The house can wait. The dishes can wait. The bonding can’t. 8. Divide and conquer is everything. Tag-team parenting becomes a superpower. 9. Protect your mental health like it’s part of your postpartum plan. Sunlight. Movement. Showers. Asking for help. 10. The sudden drop in hormones (especially estrogen) postpartum is responsible for a whole bunch of annoying side effects- including night sweats- which is when you wake up 💧drenched💧 during postpartum. The least I could do is make nourishing meals for her to help recovery. We are focusing on foods that replenish nutrients and are hydrating. Bone broth, roasts, stews, soups will be a staple as these are warm nourishing foods. Same goes for eggs. Focus on nutrient dense whole foods, listen to your body, and make changes as necessary.
