GLWe raised a preseed round of AU$2.8M for Fabra to build out our vision of democratizing product design. I’m sharing the 4 biggest lessons which got us there, for anyone out there who is trying to raise money for their business!
1️⃣ Mindset matters.
There is a lot of money in the world. If your product + pitch are good, the capital will flow. This belief is what keeps you improving even after countless no’s.
2️⃣ Nail your pitch.
Investors care about:
• Your founding team
• What makes your product different
• The size + value of your market
• Any early traction that proves people want what you’re building
3️⃣ Bootstrap as long as you can.
Real proof points = better terms, higher valuations, and easier yes’s. Even Canva started this way.
4️⃣ Don’t take rejections personally.
Their priorities aren’t yours. Each no is a chance to refine your story or how you explain things.
