⛰️ 🚩 There is something humbling about realising your own body is waving a little flag for help. My latest blood tests showed that my White Blood Cell count is low, and these tiny cells are some of the most important players in our immune system. 💪🏽 ⚪ White Blood Cells are our first line of defence, the guardians that help protect us from infections and keep everything running as it should. 📉When your WBC count dips consistently, it can be a clue that your immune system is under strain and struggling to keep up. So I am digging deeper. I am working closely with Functional Medicine practitioner @joembracingnutrition Gamble and phlebotomist Julio De Oliveira @goyahealthcoaching to understand why my WBC levels are low. 🧪 I recently completed an immune function test with @Colabseu to check for any long standing infections that may have been bubbling away in the background. 🩸 Checking our bloods is one of the simplest ways to track our health, especially if you are feeling a little off. I don't drink alcohol anymore so the money I once spent on nice bottles of wine now goes towards keeping an eye on what is happening inside my body. It feels like a good trade. At the end of the day our health is ours to protect. In a world where insurance led systems can be expensive and the NHS is under huge pressure, we cannot rely on anyone else to take care of every detail.
