habits for a long lasting career ⬇️
1️⃣Eating carbs even on days I didn’t rehearse
(Because recovery is training.)
2️⃣ Stopping class early when something feels off
Not pushing through pain for “gold-star” energy.
3️⃣Lifting weights instead of doing extra center
Strong over your thinnest and lost fatigued self.
4️⃣Fueling before rehearsal instead of “saving it”
I dance better when I’m fed. Shocking, I know.
5️⃣Taking rest days without earning them
No punishment required.
6️⃣Pulling out of a show sometimes.
Longevity is better than burnout.
7️⃣Letting my body change instead of fighting it
Strength changed my shape. It also saved my joints.
8️⃣Treating sleep like part of my training plan
Eight hours is more productive than another plié.
9️⃣Not romanticizing pain anymore
Pain isn’t discipline. It’s information.
