No matter where I go, I’m drawn to art, literature, and calligraphy that speaks of the moon. I feel an inner energy emanating from it, while the shadows cast by every object blur. It’s the first of a capsule collection we’ll jointly be presenting (with @cavanjayne and @scotredesign) at the Maison d’Exceptions in Paris next month. This annual event offers a platform for 20 artisans around the globe to showcase their innovative and/or ancestral skills to an invited audience…. and this is the first time that Scotland’s textile traditions will be represented by our trio of heritage crafts: promoting natural dye applications, handwoven textiles and trimmings and handstitched kiltmaking, through imaginatively re-sequencing the methods of each maker.
