TOToday in Madonna history on March 10, 2008, Madonna was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in her first year of eligibility, with Justin Timberlake delivering the induction speech. In her acceptance, she gave a nod to the doubters as much as the believers, saying the people who called her talentless, chubby, and a one-hit wonder helped her too, because they pushed her to be better. She then handed the stage to fellow Michigan native Iggy Pop, who performed Burning Up and Ray of Light as her tribute.
