REHow to Tell Real Jade from Fake?
Some treated jade doesn’t show fluorescence under UV.But that doesn’t mean it’s real.
Many treated jades are processed with strong acid, then filled with polymers and sometimes color dyed. Even if no fluorescent material is added, it’s still treated jade.
One simple clue is the sound test.
When you gently tap natural jadeite, the sound is clear and crisp, like a gemstone.
But treated jade often sounds dull — dull… dull…Because the polymers inside block the vibration.
So remember:No fluorescence doesn’t always mean real jade.Structure and sound can reveal the truth.
