SPKoenigsegg Regera, one of the best sounding cars ever in my own humble opinion. Mainly because of the lack of gearbox, resulting in a constantly revving 5.0L V8.
But how does it work?
Well, the engine sends its power through a hydraulic coupling directly to a single fixed gear and the differential, which the company called a Koenigsegg Direct Drive. At low speeds, three electric motors drive the wheels and fill the torque gap, while at higher speeds the engine locks in and powers the wheels mechanically with almost no drivetrain loss. No gear shifts, no interruptions, just continuous, seamless acceleration, which gave it the world record time of acceleration from 0 to 400kmh.
