Sony just released Firmware 6.0 for the Sony A7IV, and it brings some really useful upgrades. You now get a screen layout that adapts to both horizontal and vertical shooting, the new Spot XL focus area for better tracking, and the Golden Ratio guide for cleaner, more balanced framing. They also added full touch control for changing your shooting settings faster and way more intuitively. To update: download Firmware 6.0 from Sony’s website, copy the file to your SD card, load it into the camera… and you’re done. I’ve gotten a lot of questions about how I’m able to shoot both phoot and video back-to-back in run & gun situations. Let me know if you have a better way of doing this! Here’s how I do it on a Sony A1 👇 - Go to your customize dial setting in the yellow menu. - Choose which button you want to customize (I customized my AF on button). - Program that button to trigger ‘Recall Camera Hold’ found in the red menu. - Set your Recall Camera Hold settings. I use Aperture priority so I don’t need to think about exposure when I quickly swap settings. - Hit register, and you’re good to go. #camerahelp #cameratips #sonyalpha
