I’m SO excited for all the new runners that the New Year will bring 💗 I’m not really the biggest fan of resolutions, I think sometimes it’s easy to set goals that don’t fit in well with your lifestyle and if you don’t stick to them, it can make you feel like you failed aaand we don’t want that. So, I’ve teamed up with my pals at @runnersneed to remind you to ENJOY YOURSELF. It’s so much easier to stick to something when you make it fun and easy. On Saturday we celebrated two years of runners & stunners in London by doing what we do best by running and yapping! I started this run club two years ago because I didn't have the pace to keep up with others at run events and I was told I wasn't doing burpees fast enough at CrossFit. When I just wanted to move my body, have a chat and get some cake after! I think there is for sure a time and place to lock in, send it and get PBs but we are just not that and how amazing is it that such a big group of women can come together sing, dance, run purely for the joy of moving!! #runningclubs #running #runner #slowrunning #slowrunner

Do you want to get as fit as @kipchogeeliud? 👀 People think that Kenyan runners are born with some sort of advantage, it’s not the case. Great runners like Kipchoge don’t rely on talent but hard work. What’s his secret? He runs crazy volume but 80%+ of his runs are easy! What does this mean? 👀 - Crazy volume but mainly low intensity. He runs 200km a week but at zone 2 (easy pace). - He trains in a groups. He trains with big groups to hold each other accountable on every run - Consistency. He runs the same routes, at the same time, no flashy trends, just grind. - Focuses on recovery. Easy days are actually easy so that hard days are actually hard! Why it works? 🏔️ - Builds massive aerobic capacity - Keeps him injury free - Creates a mental flow from running in groups - Enforced discipline. He doesn’t run too hard too often. A mistake we all make. How you can apply this to your training: ⚡️ 1. Run with others at least once a week. Especially easy runs 2. Make sure you’re doing mainly zone 2 running 3. Stick to the same routes 4. Your mantra needs to be…keep the easy days easy & the hard days hard.
