Being on cam — Afrofest was in full effect! Had THE BEST time at Afrofest at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette hosted by Cultural Connections Being on campus @ullafayette for this year’s Black History event was such a powerful experience. The energy was elevated, joyful, and full of intention. We got to connect with so many students who are really invested in their education and genuinely curious about culture and Afrofuturism. The conversations were thoughtful, honest, and sometimes beautifully candid about Lafayette’s local history and what our future history might look like. So many great questions, such refreshing energy and personality for days!! And that’s what made it special. Young people being their authentic selves!!! These students made our day!!Truly!! It wasn’t just an event, it was a space where ideas were exchanged, perspectives were challenged, and community felt real. I walked away learning just as much from them as they may have learned from our table. Thank you to the team who worked so hard on this event and made sure all the guests were happy and felt welcomed. Your efforts and enthusiasm was evident!! If today showed us anything, it’s that the future is bright! There are some incredible leaders rising right now, and their passion, awareness, and drive are unmatched. Grateful we got to share space with this next generation. Your future is bright and you’re already building something great!!
