JAWhen Spirituality isn’t Grounded… it can easily become an escape.
The first thing that caught my attention when I began visiting Indigenous tribes in the Amazon wasn’t their rituals.
It was how deeply grounded they are.
Spirituality comes naturally to them.
They are born connected to Spirit… and they carry that connection through their entire lives.
But their connection isn’t floating somewhere above.
It’s rooted.
Grounding is the true foundation of any spiritual path.
Because only when our roots go deep into the earth… our spirit can expand.
From deep roots, we grow wings.
Without grounding, spirituality can become directionless.
But when we are anchored in the body, in the earth, in the present moment… the connection becomes real.
Nature grounds us.
And Hapé is one of the powerful tools the Amazonian traditions use to return us there:
back to the body,
back to the breath,
back to the present moment.
