🌐 Two officers were injured and five individuals killed after gunmen ambushed Ricardo Moriya, the brother of Artemio Moriya Sánchez, the mayor of #Tacámbaro, #Michoacán on October 23rd as he traveled in the municipality. After receiving reports of the attack Municipal officers were deployed to the scene and a shootout ensued, shortly after members of the National Guard and Civil Guard arrived at the incident to support the officers, and to carry out security operations in the area. No confirmation has been made regarding any arrests or the health status of those injured. According to local reports, the J@lï$c0 Nëw Gënēr@ti0n C@rtë1 had published warnings to local residents urging them to stay indoors or possibly be killed, while stating their intent to target mayor Sánchez, the Treasurer, and both of their partners. 🇲🇽 Dos oficiales resultaron heridos y cinco individuos muertos después de que hombres armados emboscaran a Ricardo Moriya, hermano de Artemio Moriya Sánchez, alcalde de Tacámbaro, Michoacán, el 23 de octubre mientras viajaba por el municipio. Meet Basic Eligibility Requirements to join the Coast Guard as an enlisted member. 2. ASVAB Test: • Take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test to determine If your score qualifies you to become an ME. 3. Basic Training: • All enlisted Coast Guard members go through 8 weeks of basic training at the Coast Guard Training Center in Cape May, New Jersey. 4. A-School: • After basic training, and being in your initial unit, at 4 months you are able to put your name on a waiting list to attend Maritime Enforcement school. Once you have waited on this list for the required waiting period, you’ll attend an “A-School” specific to your chosen rating (job). For Maritime Enforcement Specialists, this school is located in Charleston, South Carolina. 5. On-the-Job Training: • You’ll receive on-the-job training and gain experience in various aspects of maritime law enforcement, such as boarding procedures, boat handling, and security operations. 6. Promotion and Specialization: • Work diligently, gain experience, and meet the time-in-service and advancement requirements to become eligible for promotion to Petty Officer. You can also specialize in areas like K-9 handling, tactical law enforcement, or drug interdiction. 7. But security is also about strengthening communities, building leadership, and giving citizens the support they need to stand on their own. Removing gangs is necessary. But after that is done, we must help communities rebuild. People must feel empowered to take charge of their streets, their neighbourhoods, and their future. That is why we implemented the Zones of Special Operations (ZOSO). These zones were introduced in areas facing serious violence and gang control. Alongside security operations, we invested in social programmes, education support, and community development. This work requires consistency and commitment. Peace is built step by step, through partnership, leadership, and steady effort.
