Nine years. At the same university. Teaching the same students. Building the same department. And still classified as temporary. "How does that happen?" I asked. "It's cheaper for them," she said. "Adjuncts cost a fraction of what tenured faculty cost." "So they just keep hiring adjuncts and freezing tenure track lines." "And you keep saying yes," I said. Not as a criticism. As an observation. "I keep saying yes," she confirmed. "Because I love teaching. And because I keep thinking this is the year it changes." I felt the weight of that sentence. This is the year it changes. Said by someone who has said it nine times. "What would have to happen," I asked gently, "for you to stop waiting for the university to value you the way you deserve?" She thought about it for a long time. "I'd have to find something else that felt meaningful," she said. "Something that used the same skills." "Explaining things. Guiding people. Helping them make decisions." "That's literally what you already do every day," I said. She looked at me. "Except nobody's paying me what it's worth," she said. "Right," I said. "So what if someone did?" Her eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?" "I mean there's an entire industry," I said, "built on educating families about their financial future." "And the best people in it are the ones who already know how to teach." She got very quiet. "I've never thought about it that way," she said. Comment FREEDOM and I'll show you how educators are taking everything they're good at and finally getting paid what it's worth.

I just saw a post from someone I know who spent 40 years in education. She shared a photo and wrote, “First day at my new job!” and she’s working at a department store. 🎉 There were 50+ comments congratulating her. Everyone wishing her well. Everyone excited for her. And I found myself thinking… is this what teacher retirement is supposed to look like? 😳 You give decades of your life to education. You pour yourself into students, classrooms, and schools. And when you finally retire… you go find another job? Standing on your feet all day, learning a new system, answering to a boss again, trying to figure out which aisle something is in. After forty years of service. I’m not judging her. She may love it. But it made me think about the bigger picture. What if she had posted something different? 🤔 What if she had said she started a six-figure business… made a five-figure investment in herself… and was building something she could run from her phone while traveling and actually enjoying retirement? Would there still be 50 congratulations? Or would there be side-eyes and quiet judgment? Because society is very comfortable celebrating people who take another job. But people get strangely uncomfortable when someone decides to build something bigger for themselves. That’s why I’m building a life where: • 💻 Two sales can produce around $10K in income • 🌍 My business runs from my phone anywhere I travel • 📈 My income grows based on effort, not years served • 🤝 I help people improve their health and their homes • 🔁 The system is already built - no reinventing the wheel • 🧭 Mentorship and community replace doing it alone Where average ends, legacy begins. Average ends when you decide. Legacy begins the moment you move. Starting over as the new employee somewhere after decades of teaching… that’s not the future I’m building. I’m building something that surpasses a teaching retirement and creates the freedom I always imagined when I thought about the word retirement. #mtnmillers #BestLifeNow #millionaireinthemaking #whereaverageends #legacybegins 💖

Being a principal is exhausting. There’s no other way to say it. It’s early mornings, late nights, and a mind that rarely shuts off. It’s carrying conversations long after they’ve ended. It’s thinking about students on your drive home (I have a lovely ride to and from every day). Sometimes, we think about our students and staff and situations in the middle of the night, too! You juggle everything … students, staff, families, safety, learning, emotions, expectations. And in between all of that, you try to be fully present for every person who walks through your door. And you need to have enough in the tank for yourself and your own family or friends or pets or whom or what you come home to. It’s not just busy. It’s emotionally demanding. Principals care deeply. I know I do. You feel the wins deeply. You ride high when things are great, when the school and community are buzzing with positive electricity. But you also feel the hard stuff. The setbacks. The conflicts. The weight of decisions that don’t have easy answers. When you know you’re not popular - it happens often. And yet, it is the best job in the world. Not because it’s easy, but because it matters. This isn’t just a job. It’s a vocation. In the middle of the exhaustion is something incredibly powerful: the chance to shape a culture, to lift people when they need it most, and to influence the trajectory of so many lives, often in ways you may never fully see. That’s the trade-off. Heavy, but meaningful. And for those who feel called to it - there’s nothing else they’d rather do. #TheFriendlyPrincipal #SchoolLeadership #EducationLeadership #principalsofinstagram #teachersofinstagram
