Two-year-old Nyle (pronounced Nyla) came to us in early January through an investigation with our Humane Officers. She was severely emaciated at the time, weighing in at just 25 pounds upon intake. Despite her condition, Nyle's spark never dimmed! She won our staff over with her sweet snorts and sassy spirit ✨ Nyle has since doubled in weight and is now happy, healthy, and ready for her next chapter! Before coming to us, Benny spent a couple of months in the shelter, so he arrived with some resource guarding behaviors. With structure and consistency, he’s been doing really well and continues to improve. We have another dog in the home, and the two of them have learned to coexist nicely. We feed them separately, but they’re able to enjoy treats together without any issues. They also play really well and absolutely love a good game of tug-of-war (which Benny usually wins—he’s a big boy!). Benny enjoys going for walks, but if he had to choose, he’d much rather be a couch potato and relax with his people. Recently we started calling him “The Sheriff” because he takes his job of watching over the house very seriously. Her foster family had an amazing opportunity out of state, and couldn’t bring Gigi (even though they really wanted to). 😭 Since going into foster care, Gigi has opened up quickly. Within just a few days, her foster saw her personality really shine — affectionate, people-oriented, smart, and eager to please. She bonds deeply with her humans and leans into love and reassurance. Gigi is a 3-year-old, spayed girl, up to date on vaccine and is about 40 lbs (she’s smaller than she looks in photos!). She’s dog-friendly with medium energy that leans higher during playtime. She loves to wrestle and play. She had been training with her foster parents which she responds to beautifully. 🐾 Learns boundaries quickly 🐾 Respects house rules 🐾 Responds immediately to correction 🐾 Checks in and genuinely wants to do the right thing She is crate trained, fully house-trained, quiet when left alone, and loves cozy beds, blankets, and couches.
