DA$1,000 DIY Paint Booth - The Build
This is the build video for my third modification to this DIY paint booth over the past five years. For background and performance tests, check out the previous video— this one focuses on construction and setup. Assembly took about two days.
Updates in this version: an extra panel (now 16x20), two more intake fans bringing total filtered airflow to 18,400 CFM, and a 5,700 CFM DC motor exhaust fan for improved safety and ventilation.
During the first air cycle test, it cleared most visible particles and fumes in under 90 seconds ..not bad for a $1K setup.
For the keyboard engineers…
1️⃣ I know it’s not explosion-proof …that fan alone costs $900 on the cheap side. The goal was a safe, functional setup for around $1,000 total investment .
2️⃣ Inflatable booths? Tried researching them. Cleanup, power loss (they collapse), and zero expandability ruled them out. This build works, evolves, and has been going strong for five years. 🤷🏽♂️
