The Impact XPU skateboard deck is something else entirely.
Built from the ground up through years of prototyping, testing, and feedback from real skaters, this deck represents our vision for a better, more durable skateboard — one that doesn’t chip, doesn’t sog out, and doesn’t quit mid-session.
In this video, we break down the full Impact XPU Skateboard Construction — layer by layer.
You’ll see how we combined triaxial fiberglass, carbon skins, a custom vertically laminated wood core, and a polyurethane sidewalls to create one of the most advanced skateboard decks on the market.

TH📢 What’s 1️⃣ thing as a skate Lab skate tech that you won’t do with your skates?
Andrew - never leaving my guards on even just for off ice. I wipe them down and dry them off and put on my soft guards.
Polina - leave my skates in my bag. This doesn’t allow them to dry out properly and they end up smelling.
Grace - untying my skates all the way and not bending the tongue. This breaks the tongue down faster and it doesn’t allow my skates to dry out properly.

SHWelcome to my skate tech series with @bont_rollerskates! 🚀 First up—cushions! What are they? What do they do? And why should you care? Let’s break it down.
There are usually two cushions per roller skate truck - one top cushion (above the truck) and one bottom cushion (below the truck). Their hardness (durometer) affects skate performance:
• Softer cushions (lower durometer) allow for easier, sharper turns and more maneuverability.
• Harder cushions (higher durometer) provide more stability and resistance to turning.
