I journal, read, meditate, talk to hubby, or do something calming. Anything except scrolling.
 2. No eating within 3 hours of sleep.
Food needs time to digest. Late meals raise my body temperature and keep my system “on.” = horrible sleep.
 3. No weeknight TV.
I know this sounds extreme, but keeping weekdays low-stimulation has changed everything. More time for hobbies, deeper conversations, personal growth…and much better sleep. TV is for weekends now.
 4. No going to bed emotionally unfinished.
I close my loops earlier in the day. Hard conversations, lingering thoughts, unspoken feelings. I refuse to bring emotional clutter into bed. I want to fall asleep with a calm mind and a happy soul.
 5. No drinking within 2 hours of sleep.
I know drinking anything before bed, even water, will wake me up later. And if I don’t get a full night of rest, 5am isn’t happening. Protecting my sleep means making sure I’m hydrated earlier in the day.
 6. No late nights out (most of the time).
I live by the 80/20 rule. Every once in a while I’ll stay out late and sleep in. (YOLO) But most nights, I opt out so I can opt into the life I want the next morning.
 7. No saying yes out of guilt.
This one took me the longest. I don’t owe anyone my energy at the expense of my peace. Protecting my mornings means protecting my boundaries - and that’s not selfish, it’s self-respect.
 8. NO big lights!
Absolutely no big or brights lights on after sunset. I don’t care if the house is super dim, once the sun goes down, we’re back in the 1800’s over here.
 9. Having a dog.
What can I say, she is an early bird and she likes to be up at the crack of dawn, so that helps with getting up because at the end of the day she gives me no choice P.S. - my bedtime is 9:00 pm #5am #earlybedtime #sleeproutine #wellness #femininity
