Strength training is one of the BEST ways to reduce pain & keep joints healthy 💪 After 50, especially with perimenopause/menopause - women naturally lose muscle & bone density faster. That’s exactly why lifting becomes a non-negotiable. My mum finally said yes to lifting and I’m so proud of her 🥹
If your mum needs a little nudge…send her this ❤️ 👇 Routine breakdown: - 2-3x a week - 8-12 repetitions per exercise - 2-3 sets, 45sec-1min rest b/w sets 1️⃣ Wall Push-Ups
Upper-body strength without wrist or shoulder pressure. Keep core tight + move as one unit. 2️⃣ Deadbugs
Core stability for better posture + back support.
Opposite arm & leg extend without arching the lower back. 3️⃣ Glute Bridges
Strengthens glutes to take pressure off the knees.
Drive through heels, squeeze at the top, don’t hyper thrust. 4️⃣ Box-Assisted Squats
Controlled squats with safe depth.
Tap the box lightly - don’t sit fully. 5️⃣ Single-Leg Heel Taps
Improves single leg stability + balance.
Hips square, slow control on the way down. 6️⃣ ATG Split Squats (Box Support)
Builds strong pain-free range in hips & knees.
Go only as low as comfortable, without pain. 7️⃣ Seated Leg Extensions
Strengthens the quad - key for knee support.
Straighten fully, pause briefly at the top. 8️⃣ Seated Toe Raises
