Using my home decor to illustrate why red hair and obvious warm hair does not harmonize with Cool and Summer colours. One of the goals of colour analysis — besides giving you a facelift without the surgery — is the concept of harmony so that it’s easy to see YOU. If you’re having trouble understanding colour harmony, think of it like decorating a room. If your goal was harmony in your home décor… would you decorate a room like that? POV: When I literally harmonize with my home décor in True Summer colours… and honestly, this might be the easiest way to understand colour harmony. Colour analysis is all about harmony. Your hair, makeup, clothing, and accessories should visually blend with you the same way beautifully chosen décor blends in a room. That’s why each palette has hair colours to avoid. For example: • Summers → avoid red hair • Winters → avoid red and blonde hair • Muted Autumn / Muted Summer → avoid red and blonde hair (See my hair colour videos for the full breakdown for every palette.) These aren’t random rules — they’re about whether a colour harmonizes with your natural colouring. So here’s the simplest way to “get” it: If you were decorating a room… Would you put a bright warm red décor piece next to a soft True Summer blue pillow? If it would look off in a room… it will look off on you. Same harmony principle. Same visual language.
