JE❤️🤍💙 Note this video is reversed. The original flag has the stars in the upper left like in the cover photo. Although it looks correct in terms of positioning, the stars are always supposed to be in the upper left.
Honoring the red, white, and blue, and those that served, with a meaningful Memorial Day craft you can hang all summer long. Whether you’re decorating a front porch, backyard pergola, or a cozy tree swing, this fabric flag is a fun, family-friendly way to celebrate American pride with a touch of handmade charm.
How to Make It:
1. Rip red and white fabric into 3” strips (pro tip: cotton rips straight—no scissors needed!).
2. Tie each strip onto a 3–4’ branch/dowel rod, alternating red/white and leave space at the ends to hang.
3. Add texture with jumbo rick rack or pom pom garland tied in between.
4. Cut your star fabric into a rectangle (I used 18” x 24”) to match your flag’s scale.
5. Snip small vertical cuts along the top edge and tie it securely to the stick among your stripes.
6. Hang with twine and let it wave proudly from your home!
