In early 2026, at age 20, she made history by winning the gold medal in women’s figure skating at the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, marking the first time a U.S. woman has taken Olympic gold in that event since 2002 and ending a long medal drought for Team USA. Before that, she had retired from competitive skating at just 16 years old after the 2022 Beijing Games but made a powerful comeback in 2024. She also became the first American woman to land a quadruple jump in international competition, and her career includes multiple U.S. national titles and a world championship victory.
