While staying there, she finds an old cordless phone in the house. One night the phone rings, and she answers it. The caller is a frightened girl named Oh Young-sook. Soon Seo-yeon realizes something shocking: Young-sook is living in the same house… but in the year 1999, while Seo-yeon is in 2019. The two women are connected through the mysterious phone that allows them to talk across 20 years of time. The two begin helping each other. Seo-yeon learns that Young-sook is abused by her stepmother, who believes Young-sook is possessed. Wanting to help, Seo-yeon warns Young-sook about events that will happen in the future. Because of this, Young-sook changes her fate and survives a moment when she originally would have died. But this change alters the timeline in 2019. Seo-yeon discovers something terrifying: Young-sook grows up to become a serial killer. By saving her in the past, Seo-yeon accidentally creates a far worse future. Young-sook realizes she can use Seo-yeon’s knowledge of the future to commit murders and avoid getting caught. Every time she changes something in 1999, Seo-yeon’s present life in 2019 instantly changes. Soon, Seo-yeon’s father disappears from existence and her entire life starts rewriting itself. Seo-yeon desperately tries to stop Young-sook by manipulating events in the past. Meanwhile, Young-sook threatens Seo-yeon by harming people connected to her in 1999. The two women begin a psychological battle across time, each trying to outsmart the other through the phone. Just when everything seems normal again, a final twist reveals that Young-sook may have survived and manipulated the timeline one last time. The movie ends with a chilling possibility that the killer still exists somewhere in the altered timeline.
