MOBobby Lee’s life is proof that comedy can come from chaos — and that honesty can become a superpower.
Born in San Diego to Korean immigrant parents, Bobby was expected to follow a traditional path. Instead, he dropped out of college, struggled with addiction, and hit rock bottom in his early twenties. He was broke, directionless, and working odd jobs just to survive.
Then he walked into a comedy club.
That moment changed everything.
Bobby became a regular at The Comedy Store and in 2001 landed a breakthrough role on MADtv, where he became the show’s first Asian cast member. His wild characters, fearless humor, and total lack of filter made him a fan favorite.
But his real power came later.
Through his podcast TigerBelly and shows like Bad Friends, Bobby turned vulnerability into a brand — openly talking about trauma, addiction, insecurity, and failure in a way few comedians ever dared to.
His career isn’t built on polish.
It’s built on authenticity.
Bobby Lee didn’t become successful by pretending to be perfect.
He became successful by being brutally real — and turning pain into punchlines.
