THHere are some easy + simple ways to save time as a student specifically:
1️⃣Meal prep
Honestly saves so much time. When you’re making dinner, just cook for 3-4 people and put the extra portions in the fridge or freezer. Or batch cook on a set day.
2️⃣Use your commute
If you commute to uni or work (bus, train, whatever), find ways to use that time intentionally. It could be listening to a podcast related to your course/jobs ur applying for, doing flashcards, or even just reading for class. But it also doesn’t have to be work - maybe it’s time to just chill, listen to music, call a friend. Either way, it’s time given back if you reframe it intentionally.
3️⃣Make revision cards as you go
If it works for your course, don’t wait until exams to start turning your notes into flashcards - do it during or right after lectures while it’s fresh. Notes don’t help that much on their own - questions do, and you’ll save yourself so much time if you just scrap the notes and turn the information your given into questions and answers.
4️⃣2 minute rule
If something takes less than 2 mins (like clothes on the floor, 1 email etc.), do it now. It sounds like such a simple rule but it actually really does help reduce mental load so i would recommend at least trying it out!
5️⃣Use Al
We’re so lucky to be students with Al. Before you spend hours on something, ask: do I need to do this or can Al do it quicker? Summarising articles, organising notes, brainstorming ideas - tools like ChatGPT can save so much time. I’ve got reels on how I use it if you want more detail.
6️⃣Build a loose routine
Routines don’t have to be rigid but having certain tasks at set times really helps with procrastination. Like always going to a coffee shop on Thursday afternoons to write up your lecture notes or revision cards. Once your brain gets used to it, it takes way less effort to actually get started.
7️⃣Time-blocking
Helps you get work done so much more efficiently just by fully focusing on one task. I’ve done quite a few reels on how to set this up properly if you’re interested!
