ELI did a short track workout today: 12 x 200m with 200m recovery jogs. That’s half a lap fast, half a lap slow— 12 times nonstop.

I chose this workout because I like to run really fast on a regular basis to keep my legs used to a fast turnover and a long stride.

If I only did easy runs and tempo runs I wouldn’t ever train my legs to be able to move quickly. Many of you ask me about my form and my stride. My best advice is to run 100m and/or 200m repeats very fast so your body adapts to going fast and naturally becomes more efficient.

The first two reps were 46 and 47 seconds and then the rest of them were all in the 40-42 range, with the last one being 39 seconds. 45 seconds is a 6:00 pace so most of mine were 5:xx pace.

I think this is an important workout for 5K and marathon training because it helps build an efficient stride. Even as I went through this workout I “figured out” how to get down to 39 seconds. I wasn’t necessarily pushing harder at the end, but I figured out what to do with my body after 11 of them!

THReminder, it doesn’t matter what size running clothes you wear. To be honest, clothes sizes feel a little arbitrary anyway 🤷🏻♀️ I wear a size M @tracksmithrunning, a small & large at other running brands and have recently worn between an 8 and 14 at high street shops.
Wear what you feel comfortable in, feel good wearing and that makes you excited to run!
I nearly didn’t share this reel as some of the outfits highlight areas of my body that I feel conscious of. However I also love these outfits and was sooo excited that @tracksmithrunning, a brand I have admired from afar for a long time has finally come to the U.K. and to be very honest, a brand I didn’t think I was “fast” enough to work with! A good reminder to me that every body is a runner, regardless of speed or size!!
