Most guys lift weights the same way for decades, and wonder why they stall, ache, or get injured. Here’s the smarter approach: 1. Get Strong. Choose exercises that fit your body (not someone else’s). If you’ve got long femurs, a squat may wreck you, but a deadlift could be gold. 2. Build Muscle. Use output-based training to grow tissue. Then add capability work to make sure you’re strong through every joint range. 3. Stay Capable. If you can’t move your knee past your toe or your hand overhead without pain, you’re already limited. And limitations compound with age. Don’t just train for size. Train for strength, capability, and longevity. Fitness is the foundation for personal greatness.
