Partnering with Stephanie Larsen, the showroom General Showroom Manager at Waterworks, was such an inspiring experience. As a real estate agent with a background in interior design, it’s important for me to use that foundation to educate others on what luxury truly means, it’s not just a word that’s thrown around. When water pipes get jammed with clay or debris, flow can stop instantly—and in some cases, the entire system backs up under pressure. But workers sometimes use a surprisingly low-tech solution: a long, heavy log powered by an excavator.
They slowly feed the log into the clogged pipe and push it through the blockage until the pressure breaks and the water surges back to life. It looks simple… but it’s risky. One wrong angle and the log can crack the pipe, collapse the walls, or burst the line completely.
Once the blockage clears, the workers pull the log back out—leaving a clean, open channel and a massive wave of water rushing through. A perfect example of how brute force and precision can work together… if you’re brave enough to try it.
