10 things I do now because I refuse to be miserable, soft, and broke in my 40s⁣: ⁣ Some of this used to embarrass me. Now I realize this is exactly why I feel good — and why my wellness routine stopped being just an expense.⁣ ⁣ 1. I do laps. On my house, around the block, in parking lots, at the ball fields - I’m on my feet on purpose! ⁣ ⁣ 2. I bring my own drinks everywhere. I call it my cup family. There’s usually 3 or 4 of them depending.⁣ 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 ⁣ 3. I lift weights even when I don’t feel like it, because I’ve learned the hard way that muscle leaves fast and comes back slow.⁣ ⁣ 4. I eat real meals instead of pretending coffee counts as breakfast and then wondering why I feel like a seagull hovering around scraps by noon.⁣ 🦅 ⁣ 5. I go to bed when my kids to go bed. Bc sleep now determines whether tomorrow is productive or tragic.⁣ ⁣ 6. I repeat the same meals most days because my life is busy enough without negotiating with myself over what to eat.⁣ ⁣ 7. I get cute for my workout. Even though I workout at home…alone. Look good, feel good!⁣ ⁣ 8. I stopped ignoring when something felt “off” and hoping it would magically fix itself. I started advocating for myself and problem solving.⁣ ⁣ 9. I talk about what I’m doing openly. It keeps me accountable! I don’t downplay or keep my wellness goals private. No shame in striving for optimal health.⁣ ⁣ 10. When I treat myself - it’s to things that contribute to my goals and longevity - not sugary drinks or desserts. A new gym fit, a massage, a new longevity tool…⁣ ⁣ Guess what? When you take care of yourself consistently, people notice. This is how I make thousands a week from home.⁣ Because being broke is miserable too. ⁣ People ask questions.⁣ They want to know what you’re doing.⁣ They start paying attention.⁣ ⁣ 💡🔦 Your journey is someone’s lighthouse.⁣ ⁣ And at some point, if you’re smart, it stops being something you just spend money on…and starts becoming something that pays you back and helps others too.⁣ Questions? I start my mornings with an ice face bath, my @tryarmra colostrum (4 scoops every day — sometimes I mix it into my smoothies🥤), a good walk with the dogs, and plenty of sunshine. Kidding but not kidding! 45 and yes I do pay attention to the food I am eating, the supplements I am taking and have a balanced workout routine! But there are a few other things that are also a part of my wellness routine with I am sure girls in their 40ies can relate:) Tea: Ok, I need my 2 cups of tea everyday! Typically one in the morning and another around noon. Not a coffee drinker but I can relate to people to love coffee as much as I love chai. Root Touch- Ups! - I like to color by greys every 4 weeks 🙋🏽‍♀️ Botox - yup! Do it. Love it. @avamd__ Dr Shamban is amazing and very suttle. Sculptra - (injectable PLLA treatment to stimulate your own collagen) - only done it once, I will share more as I go through more treatments. (also @avamd__ ) Peptides!!!! Complete game changer for me. I use a stack of 3-4 peptides over the week for energy, hair & skin, metabolism, sleep, muscle building! Strength training - 3-4/week is a non- negotiable! Building and maintaining lean muscle is a must in your 40ies and beyond. Facials - I love a good old deep cleaning facial and my girl @themodernu is so good! Every 6 weeks is a must. Lymphatic Drainage Massage: Again a complete game changer! Love @detoxbyrebecca and her technique. I try to do it once every couple of months. And last but not the least my amazing group of girl friends! I don’t know what I would do without my girl gang 😍 #umanaralkar #omwithatwist #everythingom
