COI’m sitting here at 5:00am filling out divorce paperwork and realizing something I can’t unsee.
I didn’t know what I didn’t know.
And he did.
We were almost married for nine years.
And the man I trusted didn’t even spell my name correctly on the documents.

I’m learning about deeds, mortgages, second mortgages, equity — things I should’ve understood but never had to, because I trusted the person who told me he was protecting me.
The hardest part isn’t the paperwork.
It’s the clarity.
That moment when the dust settles and you realize this is what you accepted.
This is the love you thought was safe.
And the person you trusted knew exactly what they were doing.
I don’t feel strong right now.

Those three words changed everything for me.I remember sitting with my sports psychologist, and saying, “Why me?” and he looked at me and said, “Why not you?” And something clicked.
It became a mantra I’ve carried ever since—through every high, every low, every moment of doubt. If you work hard, put in the time, and lead with passion… why not you?
It’s something we talk about with the girls all the time. And when I see them believe in themselves, chase big dreams, and trust their instincts… I know we’re doing something right.
