With double knitting, you alternately knit two fabrics at the same time by knitting the side that is facing you, and purling the wrong side of the fabric that is behind. For colourwork, you simply switch yarns at colour change. And so there will be no floats and you instantly get a reversible colourwork fabric. 太好玩的一件作品，首次嘗試雙色有圖騰的 double knitting，好久沒有一個晚上拼盡全力只能前進三段的情況讓我鬥志滿滿。然後想挑戰的事都做到了，改良了釦洞的作法可以不用一直斷線，為了可以兩面穿在作法上煩惱了一陣子，最後也成功了開心！在鬥志滿滿的拼了一整個月後，感覺到彼此需要一點空間，收針後丟在旁邊一個月終於有動力把線頭跟鈕扣處理做個收尾。 耶比～ #winterchunkyjacket by @grey_level_knitter Yarn: Body:#isagerbouclé @isageryarn Edge: #dreamstate @spincycle_yarns Button: @pigeonwishes.shops #織物學

A lot of our KALers are still getting yarn, so you’re not too late to join. Plus all the videos are recorded, so you can watch and re-watch. This KAL isn’t for everyone. But if it’s for you, then come along!

I’m over the moon that I have to make another one, for KAL purposes. Bloody love this pattern!! @grey_level_knitter!! I have made some mod.. made it reversible (two jackets are better than one!), changed pockets, changed button band.. Will go over all of this on the KAL. And yep, we are very low on stock for the yarns I used - BUT MORE IS ON THE WAAAAAYYYYY!!! @gepardgarn 🧶

Happy #FairIsleFriday — ft. the Yell Cardigan ✨ A love letter to slow crafting ✨ Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the magic of taking things slow. While driving, while working, while cooking, while knitting. As someone who breezes through projects, I sometimes forget that knitting was never meant to be rushed. It’s a slow art. A rhythmic meditation. My current WIP — the Winter Chunky Jacket — has certainly tested my patience in the last couple months. Double knitting but with super bulky yarn (which I bought by mistake) and small needles (to compensate for the big yarn)—it all feels like wrestling a weighted blanket into submission. The fabric is dense, the rows have felt endless (each body row took 30 whopping minutes, to be exact), and the process has been anything but painless—my fingers and wrists hurt while handling this enormous fabric for extended periods, and I felt like I never made slower progress on a garment before. But then I remembered this piece: my #YellCardigan. I knit this beauty with fingering weight yarn on US 1 needles, and it took me five whole months to complete — a true slowly crafted piece. I made it during my first semester of grad school, where I was lucky to finish a row or two each night between lectures, assignments, studying, and research. I recall each color combination took me so much deliberation, frogging, and re-knitting to get just right. I put all of me into this project, and the result was a timeless fair-isle classic. What I always have to remind myself when I get frustrated with a project is that these pieces are more than garments. They’re time capsules. Lessons in patience, slowing down, and thoughtfulness. Gentle reminders that the journey only happens once while the finished piece stays with you forever. So here I am, a fast knitter, embracing the slow. 처음 해보는 더블니팅 배색하기. 그것도 부클사라니… 부클의 루프가 계속 걸린다. 어느정도 손에 익었다 했는데, 방심하면 틀린다. 몇 번을 푸르고 드디어 무늬 한 단계 나왔다. 배색뜨기 하다보면 조금만 더 더 더 하다보면 시간이 훅- 간다. 꿀잼🤭 - 컨티넨탈 한 손 배색이 편한데, 게이지가 크게 나와서 바늘을 한 홋수 줄였다. - 코 잡을때에는 메인실이 왼쪽에 있어야 코잡은 부분이 꼬이지 않고, 앞 뒷장으로 분리가 된다. - 뜨개 하는 면에 따라 메인실을 왼쪽에 놓는것이 더 편한것 같다. - 10코 마다 도안과 편물에 색 마커로 표시하면 배색 실수를 줄일 수 있다. #winterchunkyjacket Pattern by @grey_level_knitter #엄마의취미생활 #knitting #Gepard #Teddydear #2025년첫뜨개 #wip
